Uneventful day so far

$25 and 2.5 hours later, I'm back to square one.

Took the train to Little Neck, Queens, where the client's office is located. Just as I stepped off the train, I get an email from the manager notifying the team that the client's office is closed for the day due to the storm. She was heading back to the Melville office and the rest of the team was working from home. In order for me to get to the Melville office, I would have to take the train back to the city, then switch lines to catch another train to Farmingdale. Given the weather forecast of stormy weather for most of today, my manager suggested I go back and work from the NY office. So off I went.

When I left the building the winds and the snow had ceased (only for a little while). But once I was on the train, it didn't look too promising. The winds picked up and visibility was poor because of all the snow.

Oh well. Supposedly this season's worst storm....and I have to agree.

A storm is brewing

It's 3.30 am and as I'm typing this, the winds are howling outside. The forecast was right afterall. The streets down below are already covered in snow and there should be a good several inches of fresh snow tomorrow morning. I didn't believe it was that windy outside, until I opened the balcony door and got smacked in the face by the winds and snow. Haha. Won't be trying that again anytime soon.

Quite inconvenient, if you ask me. This means I need to build more travel time into my morning schedule, ensure that I dress warmly etc. And hopefully I don't have to wait long for a cab.

Hmm. The last couple of weeks were hectic, and also have a few funny stories to share. But really need to finish up a few more things before I go to bed.

Got free tickets (corporate box..woohoo!) to watch the Islanders play at Nassau Coliseum tomorrow night. Woohoo! Also means I need to work extra diligently tomorrow. Hm. My first ice hockey game and I'm excited :)
